Tachometer light/dimming issue
Hey guys,
So as of about 30 minutes ago, my tachometer back-lighting has been weird. Earlier this morning I noticed that around the 6,000 rpm range it was flickering. Now it has completely dimmed in comparison to the rest of the the tachometer and speedometer. I've attached a couple pictures so you can see what I'm talking about. The pictures were taken with the display brightness at Max. Though, even when down all the way to Dim, you can see that it is still blacked out around the 5,6,7k rpm area. Has anyone else experienced this? I guess it's not a big deal, other than aesthetically it bothers the hell out of me! Is it a circuit issue that can be easily resolved?
The pictures don't do the best job at displaying it, but it's much more visible in person.

Yeah, I have a feeling that's what would have to happen. So damn odd. If you come across this E-Ticket, I'd like to know how your situation went down.

My dealer replaced my whole instrument cluster too, but my problem was that my needles were stuck when the weather was extremely hot outside.
My engine RPM when my car was shut off would stick at 2000 RPM...if it was cold, then the needles would function normally. However, I felt that the needle jumped rather sluggishly.
When the dealer replaced the whole assembly, they scratched the clear plastic that goes over the instrument cluster to prevent dust, so I brought my car back and they replaced the clear plastic too... Make sure they don't scratch that in the process. I had two rather large scratches symmetrically 2 inches from the ends of the clear plastic cover (probably where the screws held it in place.)
