I have a 2008 G35x sedan and I'm having some trouble disconnecting the brake booster vacuum hose. I've removed the hose clip and when I yank on the hose it seems like it's connected to some plastic connector piece. That plastic disc is connected to what seems to be a foam/rubber-like washer.

Where should I pull from and what should come off? Should only the hose itself slide off or should the plastic disc come off with it? What about that rubber-like washer piece?

Appreciate any advice.

im a bit confused by your description, are you trying to use seafoam through your brake booster? if so then just feed it through the black pipe on the brake booster, just through the pipe which comes off the booster assembly

You guessed it, I'm trying to feed seafoam through. Yeah I know, it's a bit confusing. I tried to upload a picture but it kept erroring out.

Is the hose attached to the black pipe which comes off the booster assembly if I tug hard enough?

Look at THIS picture its the black cut out hose on the left, there really is only one hose on the booster so not much to mess up with BUT still do at your own risk!!

My guess is that the hose is clamped to a barbed fitting, so that even when you remove the clamp, there are ridges of rubber on the inside of the hose that have formed tightly and hardened around the barbs on the fitting. They make a tool that looks like a dull ice pick with the tip bent over in a u-shaped fashion, so that you can hook it in under the end of the hose to get between the fitting and hose and break the 'seal'. I would be careful not to pull too hard (you CAN break the fitting), just twist and pull moderately while breaking the seal with a hook of some sort. Good luck.
