The early 2nd gen sedan "sport" brakes are the same as the Journey brakes on earlier 2nd gen coupes, IIRC.

The journey brakes are 12.6/12.1 inch f/r. Not the same though close

Sedan, yes. But not the coupe. Check BR-63 of the coupe FSM.

BR-63 is the Section & Page# (Brake System pg 63) of the Factory Service Manual (FSM)

Mike you are correct. The non-Sport G37 coupe uses the brakes from the G35 Sport sedans.

Haha . . . I guess a lot of folks here wouldn't know what RTFM means either.

Perhaps not but that one's easy to find with Google.

After this long I shouldn't be, but I'm still amazed by how many people don't look in the manual, search or use Google.

I am thinking of replacing the the pads on my G35S with Hawki HPS. I am also wondering if I should go ahead and replace the rotor with something that's lighter to get rid of some unsprung weight

IIRC, when I looked into that a few years ago, there wasn't anything available in a 2-piece that would save an appreciable amount of weight, plus it would likely cost a small fortune. That was then though, so I'd be interested to know what you find out about current offerings.

So newer g37s use the 13" rotors as the regular brake? I hope so last year every aftermarket I contacted didn't have 13" rotors.... Maybe now selection is better

^^ lol, yes!

(as in "not s" = "regular")

EDIT: I just went to infinitihelp .com to verify that there weren't three versions (Sport, Journey, Base), and while I did in fact verify that there's only two kinds available for any given year, for some bizarre reason, they list the smaller 12.6 FR 12.1 RR combo for the '09 non-sport coupe. I'm guessing it's a misprint, since the '08, '10, '11, etc list the 13" FR & RR combo for the non-sports. Weird!

G35xS

So... I have a 2008 g35x sport model. I am assuming that the brake pads for the G35x and G35xS are the same? My rears went out first too.

These are the options from Infinity parts usa

2008 G35 Base Parts 2008 G35 Journey Parts
2008 G35 Sport Parts 2008 G35 X Parts

Napa said that there were two different sizes for that year and model.
