Change them both at the same time if they're worn.

Since you're new, and there is often some confusion regarding the 'Sport' brakes on the second generation (V36) G35 sedans, I think in bears mentioning that your car does indeed have the larger 'Sport' version of brakes that correspond with YOUR model year, BUT they are not to be confused with the later model year V36 G37 sedan "Sport' brakes made by Akebono and commonly refereed to as "BBK's".

I have the 08 G35xS and few months ago I was in the market for new brakes. I did a lot of research and come to find out that your front ones always go before the rear ones. Since they have the most stopping power. I would just get it taken look at from someone if you need to replace the rotors or just pads.

I replaced new rotors and pads for my front wheels and kept stock back brakes. So far I love the performance from the cross drilled rotors.

Let us know what you end up doing!

Good point made by VQ dont confuse with the g37 bbks also in our cars due to the vdc and brake distribution the rears actually tend to go a bit faster than the fronts as you may find if you search around the forums so recommend changing all four corners for best braking, else inspect the pads life left to decide which ones to replace

thanks guys for the responses
so even tho my is the 2007 sport auto it would still have the sport brakes that the 2007 6mt has
I called the dealer and for some reason he told me that the 2007 g35 sport that came with auto came with the regular base brakes
he said that the only one that came with the sport brakes was the 6mt and also the 6mt was the only one with the limited slip differential and sport tune suspension

Then he's woefully misinformed

If you give them your VIN number, they should pull up what it needs.

^whs, its shocking to see service advisers to not know the product they service day in and day out... if you have 2007 G35 Sports auto with rwd then you have the same larger 'sports' brakes as the 6mt

stupid ****ing people that work at infiniti should know their ****! Im sorry but theres no need to call the dealer. when you order your brakes pick the brakes that correspond with the car and year. its a SPORT model. regardless of 6mt or not. its just a transmission. sport is sport.

I reccomend buying akebono pads. order from tire rack. they ship in like 2 days.

Youre assuming he's talking about an Inf dealer and not a Nissan dealer. I'm changing my rear brake on Saturday and am comparing prices between my Infiniti dealer (95 miles away) and my Nissan dealer (10 miles away), so far $270 from Infiniti. Nissan?? still awaiting a call back, service advisors were busy.

the 13" brakes are not very common as i've found, I have Hawk HP Plus pads all around. the HPS would be mellower and quieter. I would stay far away from oem missan/infiniti pads, total junk sadly
