Would definitely love to see pics of that. try both...it's not permanent. You can order sample pieces of of 4x8 film from carbonfiberfilm for 8 bucks.

vb, this might be an option, also best place to buy vinyl on the web IME.

I've got actual samples so I'll post pics so you can compare.
Here you go, and my grill is the gloss black carbon vinyl

Have you tried taking this to the dealer? Quite a few had the steering wheel/door handles replaced. I know you're out of the warranty period but some dealers may step up as a goodwill gesture (to gain your future business or for good word of mouth). It's worth a shot

I've already spoken with two dealerships about it and neither has been very helpful. They're both willing to sell me a new steering wheel or complete door trim for $1000 or $600 respectively.

wrapping is great, on metal surfaces you can get away with removing the vinyl without damges depending on how long and how your interior has been over the years, I do not recomment wrapping any plastic pieces those will be damages upon removal of vinyl

I doubt that those pieces could look any worse than they look now!

besides to properly apply the vinyl on those chipped plastic trims, you would have to sand off the remaining coating to have a nice even surface to apply the vinyl on.

I'm planning on wrapping my trim very soon. I requested some samples from 3M to confirm the color I'm looking for. I'm stoked for this clean look!
