Best clear spray paint for taillights?

I used Rustoleums' "paint for plastic" clear on my headlight housings and I ended up redoing them since it caused a kind of dusty mist look over the base coat. Need recommendations for what would be best over painted tailights (and I will be sanding the clear down a bit w/ 1200 grit).
Thanks!

My friend used this on his Wrangler tail lights and it came out nice smooth and glossy.

Edit: Just re-read it. Your're looking for a good clear coat.
What about automotive Dupli-color Acrylic Lacquer clear coat. I used it over the automotive Dupli-color High Gloss Black for my grill. It looks good as the factory OB paint.
