noise after turning off a/c

Wondering if anyone has a noise that only happens once u turn off the a/c. Hard to explain what it sounds like just the belts but higher pitched. But it only happens after u turn the ac off and not when its running. Thx for any opinions!

Just for clarification, are you saying the noise only happens for a moment or so after you have been running the AC and then turn it off? . . . OR, are you saying it makes the noise the entire time the engine is running and you have the AC switched off?

My guess is that it's the clutch on the compressor acting up. If the noise is just brief, it's probably not a big deal, but if it's constant when the AC is off, then it could be serious.

actually the above video is the explanation of another noise I have lol. But the problem I am referring to actually does go away after a few minutes of running the engine with the a/c off, well just gets quieter. but it is pretty loud right after you turn off the a/c

Are you talking about a wheel of fortune type clicking noise after you turn it off?

There's a TSB regarding this. Some silicone gets stuck in the heater core and does this.

I'll find the tsb link for ya when I'm on a pc.

I had this exact issue, along with the loud compressor issue that muyrec and I have been discussing. The noise after AC was shut down was from a bad pulley. The belt was like new, but the pulley was bad. If it gets worse, u will also start to hear ticking sounds while its running. Replace the pulley and its solved... tell the dealer its intermittent and if they r nice, they will take ur word for it and replace the pulley and belt if ur under warranty
