2011 Subaru Wrx Sedan Premium edition?

Hey guys, just wondering what some of the people on this forum though about trading in a 2nd gen G sedan for a 2011 Wrx 5 speed. I've seen a few in person, very aggressive and sporty looking. I wish the 07-08 G35x years came in manual. I guess Im kinda window shopping for awd Manual vehicles with decent power.. I already know going to Subaru will lose the whole luxury feel. I'm looking to test drive a wrx today. Thoughts?

Need that AWD huh? Can't think of any pretty fast AWD stick shift cars off the top of my head besides an Evo/WRX/STi

If you want AWD + stick shift what about an A4? Might not be on par with your speed standards though...maybe S4?

over ur G sedan? Ill miss all of the luxury for sure, main loss is dual climate , but other than that the premium wrx has bluetooth heated seats heated mirrors, more power, lovely boxer sound, I know they are two completely different cars, but share their similarities..

If you can afford a 2011 WRX you can afford a pretty recent S4 =) but yeah Audi doesn't have the greatest track record..

The G is defintiely more luxury and refinement, but I would also be happy with just about any WRX... especially the 2009&up higher powered ones like you are looking at.

Turbo world is GREAT for modding. I have had a couple WRX's and an 08 MS3 that I modded. That being said, I got the G over an STI/335/others because I wanted power/luxury/options/MT/handling but don't want to keep spending every extra dime on mods.

I am VERY happy with the G as my DD, but could see myself getting an STI one day as the toy to mod the hell out of when my kids get older and savings account gets bigger.

I test drove a few 2011 WRX before I got my (pre-own) G sedan.

I think the WRX was great, turbo boxer + AWD feels awesome pulling out of corners. I love the look of it as well.

But I found the sound system to be very basic. It felt like it was pulled from a 1990 Toyota Camry. If you think the Bose in G is not good, you have to listen to the WRX ones ... Its fine for listening to news and NPR, anything else will suck. And the rest of the car was still pretty "basic", even for the limited.

And then it was the drone from the exhaust. It sounds great when you open up the throttle. But I am too old for constant droning from the exhaust ... as least as a daily drive. the G sounds so much more civilized.

For less money than a new WRX limited, I went with a pre-owned loaded G instead

But if you need AWD, WRX is a great choice. STi is nice, but it will cost you some pretty $$$.

If I were you, get a stock WRX and stick with it. If you are going to mod the WRX, then I would get a stock STi instead.

Why not Evo Lancer? I would probably prefer that over Subaru WRX...

Sorry I was workin most of the day guys, well I got good news from my bank. My options have opened up a little more, it includes the sti or 335Xi, I may start considering rwd cars as well. im just very iffy on driving rwd in the snow in the NE. maybe I should keep my G35, or just trade it in, and ill be paying less on the monthly fee, only real con is instead of 4 more years to go 5 or 6 and a newer car that ill love.
