I just bought a 2008 model G37 Sport, I'm picking up my 'G' tomorrow from the dealer and will probably have trouble sleeping tonight...I can't wait - I fell in love with the car when I saw it.... Apparently my car is no different from every other G35 or G37, the inside aluminum door pull trim is scratched up and the steering wheel trim is scratched on the left side. I need to get these three pieces replaced and have found through this forum and MyG37.com that the door trim is easy to find online and pretty simple to replace, the steering wheel trim is more difficult both to find the correct one and to replace.
I saw that Phil@Grubbs can get both of these for us and would like to find out about pricing and shipping. I can PM him the VIN# if he can still do that.
One other question I have is replacing the steering wheel trim - I have a friend who is a mechanic, could he do that for me without affecting the airbag warranty? This would be a Saturday, buy him lunch while he does the work at his house, type of thing so does anyone see any issues with it if I buy the trim and the two replacement torx screws?

I was too excited to wait on the door trim and went ahead and bought some from the Phoenix Infiniti dealer online. I'm getting my scuffed wheels repainted this week or next week so the last thing I need is the steering wheel trim and the car will look like new again.
Of course the steering wheel trim is not listed online unless you know the part number so I'm still curious about that. I can put in the part number 48463-JK07A that is mentioned on some previous posts and find that but I want to make sure I get the correct one. I need it in black with both cruise-control and Navi/Bluetooth holes in it. I'm thinking about going ahead and buying the steering wheel trim piece and having my local dealer put it on for me. That would take away some of my stress and worry about the airbag...
Phil, could you get me a quote on this steering wheel trim if I PM you my VIN #?
I would really appreciate it...

Swapped out my bezel trim this weekend, using the instructions here:
MyG37.com thread

Much better approach than the one outlined in the TSB.

Took me 50 minutes, by the stopped clock on the dash.

I had Phil include two new airbag torx bolts. At less than 70 cents apiece, I figured why not? They come coated with thread locker, which is why they're supposed to be replaced, I guess.

I ignored the TSB instructions to trash the rear cover and install a new one, and to use new screws for the plastic trim.

Also ordered and installed the harness kit to fix the uneven seat heater issues. Seems to be working. The pax seat used to only get really warm on the back, but now the seat is heating up quickly, too.

Not a bad couple hours of weekend work and $40 or so well spent.

Bought mine from Grubbs infiniti and had it installed at local dealer for $90

 

I ordered both the passenger and driver seat trims from oc infiniti. Also ordered the steering wheel trim. After inspecting the replacement parts they are in fact better quality. It doesnt look like the paint will rub off as quick as the old parts. In total all three parts cost me 114 shipped. Not bad.
