Help identifying a broken wire
I was changing my oil right now and when I was installing the new oil filter I noticed there was a loose wire right above the oil filter. That wire connects directly on top of the oil filter. Does anyone know what the wire does because my car has been running good, no check engine light or nothing.

if it has a grey connector then it has to be for something more than for grounding since those just have a little o-terminal/crimp at the end to attach to a bolt... you could be right in that it is for a sensor so i would try to fix that asap.
A pic would help to see how it broke but im guessing that there is some wire still coming out of the connector in which case it should be pretty easy to rejoin the wire with the connector using one of those little plastic wire joiners and plug it back in. If not you should be able to buy a replacement connector and then join it.

Picture will be nice. But in my opinion I would say its a ground wire for our radio/GPS (for static purposes). If its a wire for oil level it would be around our engine and should light some check engine in your dash considering its not working properly coz of one wire is not attach. Just my cent
