? on DIY TB cleaning

I read the post in the DIY section and am concerned now about doing my own TB cleaning. I bought the cleaner and the process looks simple enough yet so many people stated they had problems with codes being thrown and car running badly after.

The dealer only wants $150 for the cleaning but again seems simple. Maybe this is the wrong forum, but wanted to know how many have done this with success and why would it be difficult to DIY.

i personally havent done it myself, but my mechanic has it he only charged me like 50 dollars. and if you do get the high idle after the cleaning all you have to do is the idle relearn process.

Was a breeze... had the car turned off, followed the DIY and cleaned the TB without having to remove the Plenum. I opened the butterfly plate and used a rag sprayed with the cleaner to wipe the plate clean. Worked like a charm.
