nineiron- not sure how old the battery was. It was in the car when I bought it 2 yrs ago and it wasn't marked. I did have an issue with the battery being dead a couple of weeks ago. So...

I went ahead and bought a new Optima battery yesterday eve. We'll see if this corrects the problem or not. I will report back soon.

Update- I still noticed an ever-so-slight hesitation this morning on the way to work. It occurred once when I came to a full stop and took off again a few blocks from my house. It was NOT as noticeable as it was prior to the battery change and it only happened once whereas it used to occur 2-3 x's before the car would warm up.

Try to give it some more gas tomorrow morning. I think you'll feel it then.
I actually went easy on the throttle this morning coming out of a stop sign and it wasn't there at all. I think the hesitation is related to the amount of throttle applied.

Mine does it all the time, whether cold or hot, if I'm driving around 30mph for example and hit the gas there's a slight hesitation. I think it's attributed to dirty TB but I also remember long time ago seeing it discussed here extensively but I cannot find it anymore

When I do my 60K service I will get my TB cleaned, if it still does it then I will be concerned

My TBs are clean so what I'm describing is caused by something else. Can you take a video? I think I'll try to take one of mine sometime.

I have the same thing too in my 2008 journey sedan. Drives me crazy. If I am heavy on the accelerator from a stop then it does not do it. It only happens in the morning taking off slowly. Batter is a month or two old and just after I changed the battery it seemed to stop but its doing it again.

When you say "in the morning", does that mean that the engine has probably not reached full operating temp?

Correct. When I first start the car after sitting all night.
Also, throttle bodies were cleaned about a month ago as well as the spark plugs changed. Car has 103k on it. PCV valve was cleaned too.

Whoa . . . Have a heart man!

Even I hesitate if I have to move out in a hurry . . . in the morning . . . before I'm fully warmed up . . . after I've been sitting all night long .
