Roof spoiler

what is the best way to attach my newly panted roof spoiler. I live in Boston MA #GoPats my friend and I tried to use two sided tape but it seem not to stick well idk if it was due to the back glass being to cold it is about 58 degrees outside. what is the best option to add it and have a peace of mind that no one can rip it off, i would rather it brake first

Get the 3m tape that sticks better and then put some weight on top of it.

i recommend 3+ dabs of clear silicone adhesive to really hold it.

I have the thin 3m tape which one side came up. If i put the thicker 3m it would have stayed. But i don't buy the cheap stuff. I will get the thick one when i have time to fix it then putting some weight on it to make sure it stays on.

I have the stillen roof spoiler and had no luck stickin that Fn thing down until i tried this 3M windshield stuff. I bought mine at Auto Zone so im sure pretty much every place will have it but to make the story short that thing is not coming off! not that i have gone 150mph in my car but if i did it wouldnt come off! i think if i tried to get it off the whole windshield would come with it! good luck and try it out!

I've had good success with simple 3M automotive tape from Auto Zone. If the surface is prepped correctly you shouldn't have an issue. I would recommend cleaning the area thoroughly, cleaning the spoiler thoroughly, applying long strips, and keeping even pressure while you are sticking it.

i have the stillen roof spoiler. the instructions say to put 2 layers of tape on top and bottom and 1 layer on the sides. the goal is to have the tape protrude a bit because of the indented area where the tape is added. i use the cheaper 3m tape from china thats sold on ebay. ive always used that lol. works for me. its thinner than the store bought 3m tape so i usually end up putting an extra layer to compensate. not sure if temp is an issue in ur area since i dont deal with that stuff but its usually recoommended to do things like this is warm daytime temps

^I would say warm would be best too, although I've never tried it in in a colder environment.

Im just reinforcing what us being said above. Wait until its at least 75+ degrees. Plus make sure you prep the surface before you mount the spoiler with rubbing alcohol. Also if you can apply some pressure when mounting the spoiler by stacking something like weights, textbooks, or even clamps if possible.

This is what you'll need to look for at AutoZone. Just take your time and be patient. I put a roof spoiler on my old car and it survived Minnesota's epic winter blizzards. In fact I'm having a hard time taking it off since I'm trying to part the car out. Lol

Definitely need warmer temperature. I added a bead of clear silicone down the center between the tapes. Been through the automatic car wash a few times without issue.

Thank you all I love all the feed back. On Monday it will be 70+ and I think that is going to be my last chance before it gets way to cold I am going to leave work early and get it done. Does anyone have an idea on how long I should leave pressure on it or how long it should sit before I drive around and everything? Car wash ect.

Better than your suggestion to stick two layers of tape to each other.
