Crashed my car I'll post pics tomorrow
Crashed my car pics inside
Long story short, I was driving to work was making a left on a green light and boom! Some guy ran a red and hit the driver side.I'm wondering if the car is totaled or if they'll try to fix it. Damage is sunk in driver door, left rear door, front fender and all the side air bags deployed, including seat air bag. So what do you guys think the insurance is gonna do? I have mercury by the way.thanks for your opinions in advanced

Glad you're ok.
Whether it's totaled or not probably depends a lot on whether there is frame damage. Can you see any damage to the frame under the driver's door? Any idea how fast he was going at the point of impact? A T-bone into the drivers door is one of the worst possible accidents, but it looks like the car held up really well and did it's job of protecting you. I wouldn't be too afraid of them totaling the car. If it's close, you probably would prefer to have an undamaged set of wheels anyway instead of a patched up car with "history" to deal with whenever you go to sell it.

Same exact thing happened to my friend... although he had a POS VW... not a G. The damage was 14k, the car was a brand new lease and market value was 17-18k. The insurance company decided to actually spend 14k to fix a 17k car... I had a good laugh when I heard that one.
Hopefully they will realize its smarter to just cut I a nice fat check instead, so u can start fresh.

They took the car the next day in a tow truck. The tow truck guy told me he was taking the car to a car auction. My insurance told me they took the car to get an evaluation.my claim adjuster told me by your description it sounds like is totaled but we have to evaluate it first. I don't wanna have a salvage title and problems with the car later. Yes I think the damage is more than half af the cars value I'm thinking maybe 15000. The car is worth 21-24k I only had 40k miles on it ran like a champ.
