Exclamation Heads up for used car buyers on east coast.

Hey folks, if you're in the market for a used car in the east coast area (and probably even further out), you MUST be aware of this. Consider that this isn't even the full extent of them either; it's just a nice visual indicator of the magnitude of the potential problem that you're facing with cars like these appearing on the market. Just as with Katrina, it's here, it's real, and it's not going away for a long time.

holy S__T! I agree, I would be VERY wary about any used car on the east coast for the next couple years

Nice heads up, VQ.

To add, this will affect pretty much everyone across the nation as cars sold on auctions tend to make its way around fairly quick.

wow good share VQ! hope they are salvage titled appropriately for water damage and hope people take notice of this fact when buying used cars. Most will sell at auctions for sure and then perhaps sold to private parties as a rebuilt. Unfortunately though some people buying used cars dont often pay attention to such detail on the title.

This is true. The only possible postive here could be a sudden glut of used parts availability which could help bring used parts prices down. Lots of good parts can still come out of a car that is otherwise totalled for insurance purposes.

Another thing that occurred to me was that these are all just the cars which went through the insurance companies; just think about was how many more cars there are out there that didn't.
