Exclamation ~~~New G owner, 1st question~~~

I just purchased an 07 G35x and so far, its quite the driving machine!
I am looking to upgrade the rims but since it is AWD, I was wondering if anybody has succesfully lowered and upgraded to staggered rims on this same vehicle, using the exact specs needed to be sized correctly.
For 19" rims and 20" rims, what offset, tire size, number of inches to lower car, etc are the right to use for an X model. [I want to lower the front 1.5" and 1" in the rear.]
Thanks!

Welcome to the site, glad you're having fun w/ your new G.
Here's a handy calculator to find exactly what will work
http://www.myg37.com/forums/tire_rim_calculator.php
I run staggereds on my RWD (245/35/20 & 295/30/20) and the diameters are almost equal.
A lot of X owners run 245/35/20 & 275/20s not sure if 30 or 35 sidewalls though).
Offsets should be in the +35 to +45 range depending on width. Keep in mind 20" tires are usually quite a bit cheaper than 19s and the wheel & tire selection is better w/ 20s but you will have a rougher ride. IMO 20s really look excellent on the Gs w/ a decent drop and the low profile sidewalls really corner well. 19s are a good compromise for looks and a bit more comfort. Just keep your new tires diameter within +/- 3% of your OEM tire diameter and your front tires within 3% of your rear tire diameter and you'll be fine.

Welcome to the board. First of all, there is a PLETHORA of information on this board regarding the exact questions you asked. All you have to do is use the search function on the main page of THIS message board (for 07-08 G sedans) and you will almost surely find what you're looking for.

But, for a cheap way to lower you car with no real negative side effects, and for keeping an AWD car practical to use in inclement weather if need be, check out this link:

https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...s-19s-08x.html

Make sure you read through ALL the pages of the thread, or else you'll miss out on follow up pics and good points made by those involved. I do not take credit for coming up with this option but it definitely made me happy. My setup is a non-staggered, 19" wheel, same size tire the whole way around, and I love it. Looks awesome IMO.

Good luck on your search.

OHHH, I almost forgot. With your AWD car, you really want to be careful how much you lower it in the front. Take a look under your car right now, and see how close to the ground the front differential is already. You hit something solid with that, and yeah, it's game over! Just another reason not to slam it too low.

Thanks BTW this was all EXACTLY what I needed, Just ridin out winter before the fun!
So far, Im still convinced to drop it, tho a pro kit wont work, so i'll have to lower the front 0.8" & the rear 0.4"
Then, staggered 19s with a tire size that I have not worked out yet for the front and rear.

**Another question that I hope I did not miss the answer to in the threads provided.
Im looking for tires for my staggered 19s, for the AWD '07 Sedan
8.5"Front-desired tire size- 245 40 19
9.5"Rear-desired tire size 255 40 19
Diameter difference: Using myg37.com tire size calculator
0.31" (1.17%).
I just want an opinion on if this would be stupid compared to using 1 tire size. After all the AWD is split 80/20 with the rear getting 80% so this is why I am so far confident that it should work...
