Passenger Door Actuator

Hows it going guys. I've posted earlier about my door failures and I've finally got back to Buffalo to bring it to a mechanic. So my sedan has turned into a coupe and I have to climb from the back. Both front doors don't want to open. The mechanic opened up the panels said I have to change the door actuators, the doors are stuck on lock. He got a price from the dealer for around $250 a piece for the device but heres an ebay alternative I found.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Infiniti-G35...b2e206&vxp=mtr

But he said because the part is not VIN matched from the dealer there may be a incompatibility with the part and the computer. He's willing to install it though but can't guarantee anything.
Anyone have any input on this that it should it be the same device on every car? I've searched around for the older G's and this failure seemed to be a common problem for them.
If I would were install this does anyone know if there's a DIY?
Thanks

WHy not just call the dealer and ask if it is a 'coded' part or not ? Spend a minute or so on the phone explaining the sitution and cost considerations and they will most likely take the time to look it up for you. As a simple double check, I'd ask both the part and service departments just as in case.

^ I've spoke to the dealer. He quoted me 450 for ONE door so I'm going to stay away from that. The part is 100 and labor is around 2 hours he told me. so its approx half the price. I'll call back tomorrow and ask about that coded issue. thanks

I honestly think someone was trying to break into your car and messed up the locks. It's very rare one door failing, let alone two.

As for what you're going for, I think that you should need to get this done at the dealer, since it may require reprogramming of your BCM to get door locks to work with your key and with your switch on your door panel. You will need a Consult 3 machine to program, which only the dealer would have. It'll be less of a headache for you, and if it doesn't work, you're going to be pissed having to manually lock every door everytime you leave your car or enter your car.

^ The lock switches work fine though. It triggers when I unlock and lock from the key fob. As to someone breaking into the car door I think the chances of that are very slim but its possible.

But seriously though, having both doors' lock actuators breaking at the same time? That's almost unheard of.

That'd be pretty messed up if it was true =/ but I just wanna get it fixed. **** happens.

Would what you said before still apply if my lock switches work perfectly fine? Its just the door actuator that is messed up.

^^ It does seem to pose the question: "what is common to each of the door locks?". Since the locks work with a key, but not by the actuator, could be an issue with the BCM maybe????

There isn't any different actuators for the 08 Sedan,
LH Side 80501-JK600 G35Driver Price - $225
RH Side 80500-JK600 G35 Driver Price - $245
I actually had a customer come in, and both actuators had taken a dump, he replaced them both,
so it's possible, however I'd say unlikely still

based on that E-Bay link, it's the 80500-JK600 and that's the correct number for the RH side

mechanic is full of ch!t. This aint no POS BMW that needs a computer reset after you swap wiper blades.

Just put new actuator in and you are good as new.

Wow I really appreciate the help. I didn't except anyone to go to that extent to clarify my question. Thanks a lot. I just bought the part and hope everything goes well from there
