Exclamation Navi Backup Camera question

Hi, I have an 07 G35 with Navi. If I wanted to add the backup rear camera, can I buy this part;

http://www.ebay.com/itm/140908567259...84.m1423.l2649

Are the wires already in place for the add-on? Or will custom wires have to be ran to accomodate this addition?

Thanks!

im sure theres a module you would have to buy, that interfaces with the steering inputs and transmission to know when it needs to turn on. i doubt very highly that it would work.

You can go custom or get yourself the correct harness. There was someone here who tried to do this. he had navi too but didn't had the connector for the camera.

I thought you would also need a BCM, since different BCMs were needed on different vehicles with different packages...

Where would I find the right harness? Is there an adapter or do I need to purchase something from stealership?

thanks!

You're better off buying aftermarket one...the electronics in our cars are very complicated to deal with. You're going to have to hack the navi system somehow to have to engage the camera when the transmission is in reverse...which may mean you need a BCM, which costs over $400 plus installation. You'll also need a Consult computer.

Plus, the ebay link you showed is from a 2010 G37 sedan, which has a significantly worse camera if it was just the premium package and not the navigation package. I drove one of the G37 loaners with premium package and I noticed a huge decrease in camera quality. The images were extremely pixelated and hazy compared to my 2007 Infiniti G35x sedan with tech package (which came with the camera.)

EDIT: It may be from a 2010 Sedan with navi, since part numbers are the same- Cheaper to buy here

thank you for the info... I'm going to skip this whole project. I thought it would be a simply plug and play for the most part but I think I'm just going to leave it stock.

thanks
