Tires?

Looking for tire advice. I think I'm leaning towards Bridgeston Potenza RE970AS Pole Position for my rears. Anyone have experience with these?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Can't comment about those Potenzas, just had the 050s. For All Seasons I love my Toyo Proxes4 Plus.
Here's a pretty extensive 5 pg. review on them, and if you're interested, site sponsor TreadDepot will give members an even better price (ask for Andrew and mention G35Driver).

I was bouncing between re970as and continental dws

I just purchased and installed the continental dws on all 4 corners and couldn't be happier.

The re970as get excellent dry/wet traction reviews but horrible snow traction. Dry cornering and wet cornering also get high ratings.

The continental dws are a bit softer on cornering due to the softer sidewalks but are excellent all around dry/wet/snow traction tires. Due to living in the northeast I went with the dws's.

If I lived in a non snow climate, I would have gone with the re970as. If you have dedicated snow tires, then the re970as are a good choice.

I did extensive research over two weeks so this is all still fresh in my mind lol. If you search around almost everyone who went with the dws's love them.

From the results of the testing the tire rack did and the fact that the UTQG is 400 should give you 30K miles of wear. Not bad for an all season tire....Gary

Not sure if you are AWD, but this is my third set of high performance all-season tires and they are the worst in snow of the three. The first were the stock 18" Dunlops that were used in 2008 Xs models and then a different Dunlop tire for the second set. That being said, I think they are the best wet/dry traction. Wear has been pretty even, except for the center third of the rears wearing more quickly.

I have had them since June and I would be skeptical if I could make it through next winter on these tires given that they will be close to their useful life by then. I have always got two winter seasons out of each of the previous sets. Even if they don't last as long as the others, they are priced pretty nicely.
