HELP! Tire size for coupe 19s!

I have done a fair amount of research on this forum and other about putting the coupe 19s on my 2007 G35x Sedan. I have researched the staggered setup on an AWD which doesn't seem to be a problem if the rolling diameter of the tires are close or the same. I want to know if anyone has any recommendations as to whether I should use 245/40/19 all around for rotation purposes and that it would keep my rolling diameter the same, or 245/45/19 (front) and 245/40/19 (rear). I have also seen people so 225/45/19 (front) 245/40/19 (rear). I am looking to order these tires today and any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Since you're lucky enough to have AWD I'd stay with OE sizes, focus on quality tires like Michelin's Super Sport with a UTQG of 300. Beautiful tires, loads of traction and you should get 30K miles out of the set. Check out www.thetirerack.com for best prices, they sell at wholesale....Gary

i run 245/40/19 up front and 275/35/19 out back. back tires are a bit more meaty. using the same tire size all around wont help you with rotation, you still cant rotate the tires, the back rims are wider than the fronts.

IMHO, the 245/45 size should not be matched with a 245/40 since there is nothing to be gained by doing so. They have the same width so you gain nothing there, plus there's almost a full inch difference in diameter between them. If you want 245 width, then stick with the 245/40's all around.

That being said, I personally wouldn't care for the 245 width pinched down onto the narrower OEM front rims. I'd either get a matching set of 4 rear (wider), or 4 front (narrower) Sport rims and go with them and an appropriately sized width of tire for either choice.

Alternatively, if you just did the exact same size combo the OEM stagger uses (narrower in front, wider in back), you'd be closer in diameter, but not dead on, if you're concerned about that. Although I wouldn't care for it, to more closely match the diameter of the 245/40 rears you would need a 215/45, which is fairly narrow for our cars.

Of course you can play around with one of the online tire calculator tools and see what combos will open up if you widen the rears a bit, maybe you can find a new 'perfect' match.

If it were me, and I had an X, and I had staggered 19 wheels, I'd probably go with a wider 255/40 on the rears paired with the stock size 225/45 on the fronts, since they are virtually the same diameter (just 0.2% difference) and yet fairly close to stock diameter overall.

@vqsmile Thanks for the response, much appreciated! I ended up running 225/45 fronts and 245/40 rear as the rolling diameter was just inside of 1%. Happy with the way it rides, just need to do coil overs. I posted pics in another thread after I put the new wheels on.

Thanks again for the reply!
