Warranty Question...

Hey all

I put "Aftermarket Warranty" into the search bar and nothing really came up. I was wondering if anyone on here has had any experience with an aftermarket warranty??

I just bought my 08 g35 journey. Though it only has 37K miles, one of the dash board LED's is flickering a bit where the tach is. I plan on keeping the car until 100K miles so if anything big goes wrong I want to have a peace of mind that my car is covered.

Any comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,

AK

If you have the opportunity to get one, and you can afford it, I would recommend getting one. I have one and even though there is a $100 deductible, it has paid itself off in the long run. My only gripe is that the work HAS to be done at Infiniti (not Nissan) and they send an adjuster to check the car before the work is done. They made me take of my Hotchkis sway bars and also tried to say my Nismo exhaust was also aftermarket but Infiniti had my back and said that Nismo is considered "Factory"

Aftermarket warrantys are the worst investment you can make! If your desire is to get a warranty make sure it's Nissan, nothing else. When my new car warranty ran out I bought an extended 5 year warranty thru Nissan and paid $1200=. For all that $$ I used it twice once for a door lock and the second time for a window motor. I wasted close to $800= do you really need a warranty?

It sounds like Slick is in better health than my car. So far the warranty has replaced/repaired
Passenger seat (motor went out)
2 separate TMPS
2 front bearings
1 Cat
2 separate window motors
Compression Rod bushings

I have so little left on my coupe that came from Japan buying a warranty was really a waste of $$. Only upgrade I haven't made is my trans which I'll do in the next few weeks in the form of a trans cooler, can't see boiling my trans fluid again next summer....Gary

If you can, get the elite warranty from infiniti. So far i used it once when my sportmode stop working to switch gears. That was a $700 job. I hope something else will go so i can put my warranty to work again.

I need to use my Sportmode again. I have used it 2 times since I bought the car.
