07' Infinity G35x engine interchangeability?

Hello everyone.

My girlfriend blew the engine in her 07' G35x.

Can anyone confirm with certainty whether or not engine is interchangeable with that of the RWD G35/350z (03-06, VQ35DE)?

Thanks.

I would say it is not interchangeable since the 07X has the VQ35HR

Well I feel pretty stupid now. I totally forgot the car had a HR in there.

So to change the question around now. Would 07/08 G35/350z (RWD) engines work in the car? Is there any difference in the block between RWD/AWD?

^^ I would agree kool. The only things that I could image being different might be the bolt on accessories and/or the oil pan, as they might possibly have clearance issues with the AWD system, but that's just a guess.

^ ah you might actually be correct on that but if i remember correctly one member (i think q8y...) compared the engines and found that there were 'extra' accessories on the AWD model on the oil filter assembly that he ended up reducing to the RWD specs for some reason(cant remember why) and everything worked fine.

@OP: with that said i would look into confirming this before buying the engine from RWD hopefully that member sees this and can pitch in
