Hey OP the amount of air going in from the improper seating of the filter is prolly the same amount of unfiltered air going in from K&N air filters... So I wouldn't worry too much. The dealer should have still thrown in a free oil change.. But obviously they r not known for their generosity

Yea I am not too worried, its not like I drove thru the desert, but it wasn't just improperly seated, it wasn't seated at all, I got my hands behind the filter up at the top. Was not expecting much from the dealer, just kind of annoyed they seem to think its impossible. Not the first time I've had issues at an Infiniti dealer, the one I go to now is new though and has been much better than my old one so I guess that counts for something. Want to start getting more hands on with this car anyways, did everything myself with my old civic. Come to think of it pretty much every local dealer of every brand I have been to has always pretty much been stealership status so IDK why I am surprised anymore.

That is possibly the biggest pile of BS I have ever heard come from a dealer and that's saying a lot.
