So yesterday when I was driving and I forgot I was in tip mode and accidentally hit the revv limiter. And today the engine maintenance soon light came on. Does anyone know why? or is it just a coincidence? And what does the light mean any ways? because my oil filter and oil was just changed recently. Thanks!

It means "Hi, I'm your car here and I have detected something is out of spec. Would you please drive me to a mechanic or AutoZone, have them hook up a code reader and I will let them know what is going on".

got my gas cap replaced and disconnected the battery for a while. driving for around 50 km and light still didn't come back. hopefully it stays that way

 

I love threads where guys ask for help with a CEL but don't know which one it is...
