Question regarding Auxillary connection
Question regarding Auxillary connection
I was trying to hook up my iphone 5 to connections inside center console. Does anyone know what kind of cable exactly i will need and wether it would affect sound quality? Thank you.
I am using a cheapo 3.5mm to RCA cable. It works and I have no complain. May be I set my iPhone volume limit to low, I did have to crank up the volume on the iPhone and the car audio to listen to my iPhone.
If you're trying to use the center console's interface for the media stored on your iPhone 5 then don't bother. Tried both; the iPhone 5 and the iPod touch 5th gen that both use lightning ports and to connect with system i bought a 30pin to lightning port adapter. Neither was recognized and I've spent hours of researching as to what may cause this issue. Ended up buying an iPod Classic 7th gen. Works flawlessly. But if you're just looking for an AUX cable I'm sure any would do its a very short distance for a connection. And I'm sure if you ask the workers can point out why one is more expensive than the other but fitment should be universal.
I have a 08 G35 and I use the center console iPod connection with my iPhone 5. I use the lightning adapter (with cable) and one of these adapters: http://www.cablejive.com/products/dockStubz.html
I got the first gen of those. Have been using this since the day I laid my hands on that lightning adapter. My only gripe is sometimes I have to power cycle the phone for the car to recognize it.
Let me know if questions.
