Is my G35 in theft danger?

I found this in the morning, not sure is this done by last night because it is on the passenger side.

Car is usually parked in campus(with security patrol) or apartment's public parking space (with security patrol but I don't trust them...), I have nothing valuable in the car(empty soda can?), no GPS or something else.

I'm very worried after I found this, I don't think it is done by some careless car driver when they open their door. I think maybe a thief was trying to steal my G. But why he cut my door **** in this way? Any ideas?

P.S. Anyone knows how much I should pay for this in the body-shop?

Thanks,

Yes, your G35 is in theft danger.
Sell it and buy a KIA
Problem solved.

Seriously guys. Be more serious. And not so judgemental. After all this is American. Melting pot of all cultures and languages. I actually feel pretty offended in the way that you guys reacted towards OP. he's prolly not from this country and people like yourselves make it harder on normal people trying to better themselves and work hard for their belongings.

I would say yes Op. any nice car like ours attrack both. Wanted and unwanted attention. That to me looks like unwanted attention. It can be anything from a homeless person who saw that empty can In your car. To some douchebag a hole like the guys commenting on your post who were jealous of the nice car you drive.

As far as the damage goes. It's not that bad. I would just try to find a G with the same color as yours and just buy that one door handle. I don't think it would be that hard. It might take alittle time but you can find it. As its not anything major that would impede you from driving your G.

And again I'm sorry @ Brian's comment. People like that just make America alittle less American in my eyes. After all I'm sure he's people didn't always speak perfect English at one point and maybe sometime in past time he's people weren't socially accepted either.

Sucks when people don't respect others' property, sure looks like someone had intentions of getting into your vehicle rather than just a lowlife vandal. I wasn't sure if the doorhandles were painted but from your pic it appears they're a solid color matched to your vehicle. This may make it tougher to find a used one, but try http://discountinfinitiparts.com/par...p=FRONT%20DOOR
This lists the door parts but not the handle by itself. Might call your local dealer for a particular part #.
Good Luck and hope this was an isolated incident.
Here's one on Ebay for reference

I do not understand the logic surrounding the damage. How can cutting a handle like that, allow entry into the car? It looks to me like someone was just being an ahole and vandalizing your car. Either way OP, I would keep an eye on your car and make sure not to leave anything visible that might inspire some POS to break into your car. Even with insurance, the deductible is a bish.

You laugh, but I have to say, it really does actually look like teeth marks and gnawing action there. I can't see what logic there is for the marks to be where they are and how they are, if it was for a break in attempt.
Maybe it was a squirrel, or perhaps even a rat. It would make more sense that it was a rat. If you had some food smeared off your hand or something, that could attract them to bite at it. It may look like a lot, but a good sized rat can chew into soft plastic like that in seconds.

Thanks for your reply.

If someone was just being an ahole and vandalized my G35...Why he chose my door handle not other parts of my car? Besides, the G's engine can't start without the intelligent key inside the car.

Maybe he's just a newbie car thief...I think...

This really sucks, who knows what someone was trying to do by the damage caused? If you need to leave your G outside, I suggest you get an alarm so this won't happen again....Gary
