errrr, your discussion about top speed is not quite accurate. The top speed in the G35 is either ecu limited or wind resistance limited. Definitely not gear ratio limited, redline in 6th should be at 178mph (source).

If it's ECU limited, it's pretty straight forward. If it's wind resistance limited, it's more complicated involving wind resistance and gear ratios and rolling resistance. (ie where you first reach the point where wind resistance+rolling resistance = force at the wheels)

The G is ECU limited as far as I know. A 5AT will (stock) max at 6200 RPM and 140mph. I am not as familiar with the 6MT. Since an Osiris tune will allow a max RPM of 7200 RPM you can get more top speed from it. This tells me that its not wind resistance, its just a maximum engine speed issue.

errr, using the gear ratios from: https://g35driver.com/forums/drivetr...explained.html

6200 in 5th gear in an 03-06 should get you to 170mph

the HR engine revs higher right? then 6800 in an 08 in 5th should get you to 168mph

So I don't think any are drivetrain limited. Look up your FSM if you think these posted gear ratios are wrong... On the freeway when you are going 70mp, is your tach closer to 2550 rpm or 3100 rpm?

Must have black rims, that's easily 2-3 hp better than other colors.

There are a hundreds to choose from. You need to pick something that you like, not something just because it is popular.

I know my math sucks but isnt a 30 hp gain from 275 only going to be 305?

If you could spend $70 and bolt on 30-50 hp in 5 minutes, don't you think it would be the FIRST thing everyone would tell you to do? Just sayin....

You remind me of the NUBE who just gets his MC licence and then buys a litre bike. He quickly becomes a RIP thread.
Lol ^ my fist bike was and is a liter bike

Not quite true. The DE motor has the speed limiter set at 155 and I have personally had my 05 5AT at 144mph and climbing before I backed it down (on a deserted Mexican highway of course). This was before I got tuned so I believe the first gen autos are capable of 150 or more given the right conditions.

All of the magazine tests from 03 all hit about the same 140ish mph top speed and the car is rated from the factory for 142 (per specs). So either all the testers never actually tried to reach a top speed (good bet) or it is actually capable of more (so as not to redline the motor). The gearing however should allow for a top speed at 6200 RPM of 155mph (according to other articles). I haven't found a stretch of road in SoCal long enough or empty enough to even attempt this.
