Anybody has problem with leaking coolant reservoir?

The other day, I found some coolant on the garage floor. And when I popped the hood, the coolant reservoir was bone dry. But there are still coolant in the radiator.

So my guess that I have a leak somewhere from the coolant reservoit to the radiator?? Any suggestion to try to figure this one out?

Anybody has problem with that as well? I am thinking maybe I can do a DYI ti replace the radiator if that is in fact the problem.

i am gonna say it is prob leaking from one of the connections where the radiator meets one of the tubes. jack you car up and see if you can find any dried on rad fluid and go from there.

You can also get some coolant UV dye and do a leak test with a black light. We recently went through this with a non infiniti, and found it was a leak in a place other than the reservoir which was our original guess as well.

I checked yesterday, and it may be leaking from where the hose (that goes to the radiator) connect to the bottom of the reservoir. I was able to pull the hose out of the connecter without too much effort.

now i flipped the hose and see if that will stop the leak.

Have you changed the radiator cap? Mine was bad and it was causing my reservoir to steam out and would empty. Replace the cap and everything was good

That's good to know, i will keep that in mind.

Since I saw some coolant on the garage floor, that's why I go straight to "something was leaking"

If it is the tank, you can replace it with one of my custom aluminum tanks that will NEVER leak. PM me if you are interested.

Put some adjustable clamps around the hoses. Tighten them up and see if it fixes the leak.

Typically, you're better off using the appropriately sized spring type hose clamps that the factory uses ( https://www.google.com/search?q=spri...w=1920&bih=881) instead of the regular worm screw adustable clamps. The reason being that the worm clamp will not self adjust like the spring type clamp to accommodate flutuations in hose diameter due to expansion from temp fluctuations. When it is set tight enough to seal at cold temps, although it initially seals it will, in time, crush and degrade the section of hose underneath it causing future problems. When it is set tight enough to seal at hot temps, it will not seal properly once the hose cools down and contracts, also causing future problems. The factory knows what it's doing; if you're having leak issues, use the correct clamps.
