BlueTooth Static Noise
BlueTooth Static Noise
watz up guys, wondering if anyone has a problem like I'm having with my bluetooth.. I currently have a samsung galaxy s3, which paired up to the fine. How ever, everytime I try making a call or recieve a call it makes a static noise.... can the microphone be messed up
I can confirm that it is that Jelly Bean update for the S3. I personally had the S3 since it came out and it was initially on ICS. Bluetooth worked flawlessly back in those days. However once that Jelly Bean update came, my Bluetooth was no more! I had to figure out what was wrong with it till I figured that a lot of other people had the same problem.
My solution. I bought the HTC One (new one) initially running Jelly Bean. And that works flawlessly!
So i'm sure a software update on your PHONE, whenever they release it, will correct it. Car's Bluetooth is fine.

Interestingly enough, I have the Galaxy Nexus and the BT stack was not playing nice with the car (07) when I initially got it (right when the GNex came out), but the subsequent Android OS upgrades have mostly fixed the main issue I had which was never static but instead a weird delay when initiating a call or receiving a call. E.g. when people called me, I'd click the button to answer the call, and then have to wait until the call timer on the car said about 4-5 seconds before I would even bother saying hello. But that's all fixed now. The GNex firmware updates should be ahead of the S3, so if you wait a bit, you'll probably get a newer firmware and maybe it'll address those issues too..
This thread made me want to investigate this issue further.
I saw this same fix a few months ago but didn't bother with it, i thought "How can an auto-connect feature help a bluetooth stack problem?". With nothing to lose, i tried it this time around and interestingly enough, it fixed the problem -- no more "robotic" static noises.
