key fob

if this is in the wrong section i apologize. so my key fob will not work. i replaced the battery and still will not work. the problem is nothing electrical will work in the car even with th key fob in the slot. i will try reprogramming this afternoon but it seems strange that nothing electrical will work. has any one ran into this issue or know of any solutions. i called infiniti and nissan and they said they would look at but obviously i need the car there as well and unfortunately i cant start it cause everything is dead. the battery is fine by the way. thanks again guys!

Is the car battery ok? A near-dead car battery can cause weird electrical issues.

How old is the car battery? Did you actually test it? Like soundmike mentioned ... the car has a low voltage (or current?) threshold that must be met before the car will even crank over. It may seem like your battery is fine, but the car may not think it is enough to start it so it won't even try.

Quick and easy test is to try and jump start it.

Just another option: If you (the OP) live near a BatteriesPlus store, you can just stop in and they can test it. Certainly another perk with them is that you can actually purchase a new key fob there too if yours is no longer good.
