New to the G world--Exhaust upgrade question

Hey fellow G owners!

So I just bought my first G, it's a 2008 G35s Sedan, 6MT. I've had it for 2 days. It's completely stock, and I want it to make a little more noise. I don't want an crazy exhaust that will wake up my neighbors or set off alarms, I just want it to be a bit louder than stock. I'm trying to explore my options here. What do you guys think? I don't have a huge budget, and would like to do it for as little money as possible.

I would love to hear any and all opinions!

Thanks guys!

The Tanabe Medallion axle back is a bit louder and looks nice for about $650, might be able to find a full cat-back setup in the used marketplace for about that much too. If TopSpeed was stocking the rolled tip version of their Pro1 exhaust that would also be an option but they've been shipping mostly their crappy thin straight-tip version that I can't recommend.

There is a huge list of exhausts out there. I have a Stillen Catback for mine. Fits perfectly with awd. You have a bigger choice to exhausts since your not awd. My three choices are for exhausts for our G's are Stillen Catback, FI Catback or ARK Catback. Those are the three I would look at online. Youtube a couple of them so you have an Idea of what you are trying to get. Also make sure the video tells you if they are running stock cats or HFC/TP otherwise it will be louder than if you are to run the same exhaust on your stock cats.

Looks like TopSpeed currently has a listing for the good beveled tip set, on a budget this is a much better deal than the poor thin straight tip set.

Hey members, remember what he posted...."I'm on a budget" and I don't want to wake the neighbors! Most of the restriction in the OE exhaust is in the cats, replacing them with Fast Intention high flow cats will improve the sound and give you another 8 rwhp. You can also get a K&N drop in filters which will allow the engine to breathe. Both these breather mods won't cost you $500, give or take a few. Listening to vids of exhaust systems in clearly a waste of time, they're only as good as the Wallmart machine's they're recorded on! You want to hear exhaust systems? Attend a few meets and listen to them in person....Gary

I briefly looked at the FI high flow cats. Best place to buy them? I am debating on toying with my G35X or selling it and getting a Porsche Boxster.

You can order the Fast Intentions HFCs directly from them at www.fastintentions.com if you're still interested....Gary

Fast intention is not too loud but once you put the HFC on it becomes louder when you get on the pedal
