It all comes down to your budget really. IMO you can't beat the TopSpeed (w/ the GOOD tips) as far as looks & sound FOR THE PRICE but there certainly are better options if you've got a larger bankroll. All the above replies are solid, again it's what you're really after that matters most

get motordyne ART pipes to replace the cats and see if that makes enough noise to suffice.. they dont add rasp and add just as much hp as an exhaust for 1/3-1/2 the cost

I'd go with Flowmaster X mid pipe, and top speed for custom fabrication. it will save you money and will give you noticeable gain. And they are cheap to do so... I would never spend over 1k on a exhaust... unless they are ART pipes. which they are sooooo sexy sounding IMO.

Also, if you just want the sound... i'd just go with HFC and keep the stock setup. once they break in, they will sound like you have a high quality exhaust. And they don't throw off any codes.

Again, it's a difficult decision... but if you're on a budget, i'd just get the HFC to begin with... which I regret not doing that to begin with.

HFC > mid pipe (x-pipe) > muffler
OR
Mid pipe > muffler
OR
Axle back muffler only.

They will all give you better sound. but not much in performance unless you go
HFC > full catback exhaust > intake > and tuning.
You should gain about 50ish noticeable performance.

A friend of mine suggested the following: "Get some test pipes, motordyne ART pipes, motordyne y-pipe with either a resonator attachment or catalytic converter. Then whatever you want after the y-pipe for sound. Like a nismo s-tune or something."

What do you guys think of this?

Also, I'm looking to get some K&N filters, and I was wondering where the cheapest place to get them is. eBay? Amazon? Local parts store? Some secret site that I don't know about?

I have k&n filters for sale if you wanna buy it.
It's in great condition. Like less than 2k miles on the usage. Also I've cleaned it and oiled it.

Send me an offer and we can go from there

Ok so I want to spend around 5-600 bucks, and I've narrowed it down to either Fast Intentions High Flow cats OR TopSpeed Pro 1 exhaust.
What do you guys think will be the best bang for my buck? Power gain is important (regardless of how minimal it may be) but I also want a good tone (NOT CRAZY LOUD, just a little louder when I get on it).

Here's the TopSpeed: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Infiniti-G35...897125%26#shId

Here's the FI HFC: http://www.fastintentions.com/produc...roducts_id=119

Any thoughts/opinions are appreciated!

Thanks!

If you want both sound & looks the TopSpeed FTW, if you want a bit more gain the HFC gets the nod.
I've been very happy w/ my TopSpeed and it looks like they're still stocking the ones w/ the nice tips.
I don't really care for the stock G exhaust tips, the tips look much better on the TopSpeed.

Just recently painted the stainless exhaust cans black so it's not so shiny back there, I wanted to have the attention on the tips not the cans

Thanks
Just BE SURE when you order that it clearly states "bevel-edge" tips on the listing, they've been getting different shipments and some of the crappy single walled tip versions get listed in between the good ones

Just wanted to provide some feedback as I just purchased the TopSpeed Pro1 Exhaust with Bevel-Edge Tips and got them installed today on my 2009 G37xS Sedan.

I expect the sound to improve even more as I break it in. But I'm already thrilled with the results ATM. There was very little drone if any since I have an AT and the car is quiet while idling. From 4-7k RPM the growl is just perfect! Great purchase and I am definitely enjoying it
