I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have a 07 G35s sedan 6mt that wouldn't start sunday night. Thankfully this is the first issue that I have had in the year I have owned it. I tried jumping it Monday morning, no luck. I pulled the battery and took it to advanced auto parts to test and they said it had plenty of charge. The terminals looked good but I took sandpaper to them anyways a little just to be sure. I checked fuses, and even replaced the clutch pedal switch in case that was the culprit. None of this has worked, it still won't start.

Between researching here and Google, it seems to point to the starter to me, but I can't get it to my mechanics to double check. I like DIY projects, but the only thing I can find on google is for the older gen G35's plus I do not want to drop $150-$200 on a starter if that is not the issue.

1. does anyone have a picture of the starter location for an 07 V36 G? or a DIY?
2. does anyone know of any other trouble shooting I can do at home before having it towed somewhere? (like tapping on the starter or renting testing device from auto parts store)

There is a under engine shield that must be removed , it is at the passenger side rear of the engine and is removed from below. Takes less than an hour labor.

 

Thanks, it ended up being the starter that died after me driving through some big puddles during some heavy rain
