Gas cap no longer hisses?

I recall, at least a few times (if not always) the gas cap would hiss when I open it up to gas up the car. Lately it has not done that.... And coincidentally I'm trying to figure out why I'm getting about 15 mpg in city.. And over all reduced mpg. Thought maybe the gas cap is to blame.

Do u guys always get hissing gas caps when u unscrew it to fill it up? Or is this a random thing? And so far there has not been any warning lights about gas cap leak.

Hmm i never noticed a hiss on mines. I think only once. i tend to run it til the last line, even passing it. perhaps running till dry causes a pressure build up inside?

Its only noticeable when the gas tank is low.

For the lower mpg, maybe you put in bad gas for this one time?

Nah, I determined the low mpg is cause I'm Street driving... But it's still pathetic... 16 mpg is Whack considering it's rated for 17. When I drive on highways and streets for most of the week it's around 19...since the day I bought it, it's been 18.3
