Rattle from passenger side front wheel

As soon as I start the engine I get a rattle sound from the passenger front wheel area (it sort of sounds like a camshaft, with variable intensity I mean). When I accelerate hard it nearly goes away (not just because the engine is louder), but its persistent whether I'm idling at a stoplight or at 65 mph on a highway. When I turn off the engine it slows and then stops with a ~two second delay. That makes me think its a belt or something. I just got four new tires and the noise started the next day-- thinking something got messed up there, but what? It sounds like its right behind the glove box. I've searched the forums and tried the seat belt rattle fix, the passenger door speaker rattle, as well as had a friend hold the glove box while I drive. The rattle persists.

Thanks!

Do you think the cat would cause a variable rattle like I had described? Or what might've happened when the tires got replaced? I haven't noticed any drop in gas mileage, and performance is unchanged all the way to the redline. Doesn't seem like a coincidence is likely since it started right after those front tires were replaced. Maybe bumped by a mechanic? I plan on taking it over to the auto place that did the tires to get their opinion since they screwed up the tire order process and owe me.

well.... having a broken cat doesn't always mean It's gonna give u any issues, (low mpg's, etc....) but that's the only thing I can think of... Ohhh and maybe the cat or exhaust shields... u can try to take it bak to the tire shop but I doubt it.... and hopefully is just a shield.
