Push to start issues
another random question.. does the push start button light up for you guys? I've noticed the letters above the actual button wont come on.. example ON, ACC ect.. I'm pretty sure they used to light up at one point depending on what mode the car was in.
whoops, sorry! I meant Iridium.
I'm only @ 50K and i think i'm already experienceing some rough idle due to worn spark plugs (i take my VQHR past 7Krpm on a daily basis). Iridium or not, i bet they look worse than the ones in the pics.

Read this thread, i'll let the posts speak for themselves. While Iridiums are rated for 100Kmiles, the manual reccomends changing them @ 60K. I'm gonna do mine @ 60K (if i don't sell my car first)

I'm pretty sure the plugs are the stock ones.. I purchased the car last summer with 65k miles and I believe it was a trade in lease. Who knows what maintenance work was done before it was traded in. Are plugs pretty difficult to swap out on these vehicles? I came from the Subaru world and those were a pain in the @$$.
My plugs didn't look too bad after 109K miles, but I did notice my gas mileage improve noticeably with the new plugs.
Also, my lights do turn on around my Start button.

As for that thread, I can't say I'm terribly impressed by it. Did you notice post #8 where someone showed the plugs that went 106K ?? Of course the gaps are going to be off after a full life, but remember, the FSM spec is .043", so a set that went 106K yet was still in a .040 -.055 range is pretty darn good if you ask me.
Again, if you are compelled to change them so early, be my guest, but please don't state misinformation about what the factory recommends and what is routinely proving to be perfectly sufficient (as proven in your own thread link!).
Yes it does light up....hmm you might have shorted something out? I don't know.
Well... I dropped the car off this morning and they just called with the results. Apparently the push start button was bad, so they are going to replace it under my extended warranty. Everything else checked out, they gave me a loaner for a few days and sent me on my way.
I will post any new info as it comes in. Thanks for all the responses, and I'm sure glad I bought that extended warranty!

That's funny! Reminds me of the ignition switch that went bad on my old maxima with the same symptoms :P
You'd figure that the lack of an ignition switch would solve that, but I guess having a button isn't any different.
Thanks for keeping us posted!!

Those are my personal opinions, and i'd personally feel more comfortable changing the plugs earlier and not testing to see how long iridium plugs can last under my particular conditions, since my car falls under the severe service category
Re-reading the spark plug thread, the OP has said the following:
"had 3 plugs that were very far out of range with the upper electrode worn away. My car has 69,000 very hard miles on it. The decision to change plugs is a result of gas mileage dropping to 19 mpg from 21 mpg. Rough idle and part throttle hesitation"
Based on that, i think i'd want to do mine @ 60K....rather than having them crap out before 100K

didn't seem like it was really definitive to me. He said he was dropping it off, but never said that the issue was really resolved. No update on getting it back and having the car actually work because of a button.
I've posted a thread, with some silly replies. Mine sounds a lot like the OP's. Long crank with an unsure first rev or two on an 07 x sedan. Battery is fine, easy stuff is all checked and fine. 68k miles.
