TERRIBLE Gas Mileage

Hello fellow G Entusiasts:

I am on my 2nd G35 sedan, an 07 with 68,500 miles. I previously owned an '03 G35 Sedan that got 22-23mpg. I am befuddled as to why my '07 gets me 19.7 even though most of my driving is highway AND I drive it extremely light. Any suggestions???

Thanks!!!

Thanks for your insight! Any idea what that would run at the shop? I unfortunately don't own any tools, nor do I have the space to perform DIY.

My 07 x doesn't get over 24 mpg on the highway at 70-75 mph. Saying that most v36 auto will get around 23-23 even if driven with good mpg in mind

I'd jump for joy if I got 19 mpg. 13-15 (good tank) for me

I have a 05 X.Last month l drove from NJ to Tenn 690
miles. I got 26.5 mpg at 75-80 mph. With 93 octane gas.l noticed with 10% ethanol l lost 2 mpg.l was in Powell Tenn 10 mile from Knoxville.lt was hard to find 100% gas! What type of gas are you using? Try using 100% gas to see if you get better mileage.Around town l get 20 mpg.

I usually cruise at 75-80, but most of my highway driving is 65-75. Fuel-wise I mix it up, I always get the highest octane at Costco and switch between low and high test at the major gas stations (shell, BP, chevron, etc.). Tires are optimally inflated.

13-15?!?! I'm going out on a limb and guessing you drive HARD. I am easy off the line, try to use my brakes as little as possible, etc. Fueleconomy.gov says it gets 17-27 highway. All I know is this puppy has never sniffed anything north of 20.

Given that I've only owned my car for a short time, I'm seeing avg 19.8 mpgs. I installed a few mods yesterday, so we'll see if that changes much.

My goal is to just get 300+ miles out of a tank. I filled up last week a little after my gas light came on, and put 16.6 gallons in it, and had put about 320 miles on it. I'd love to see 350, but I'm not sure I want to run my car that low. Even though 'low' means 4 gallons left in the tank.

I've owned my 05 coupe for a month now and I'm averaging 21-22mpg and often drive like a grandma with an occasional lead foot

Try using top tier gas only for a couple tanks. And run some royal purple max clean through it. Previous owner may have ran cheap gas through it, which can lead to dirty valves and combustion chamber gunk, lowering mpg. Crap gas can also lead to premature spark plug "wear". I'd have a shop pull out plug #1 and inspect it

I get about 24.76 MPG (9.5L / 100km) on the Hwy. Plugs are still factory and the MAF has never been cleaned. In the city I get about 20.45 MPG (11L / 100km). 91-92 Fuel with no ethanol. Something is not right if you are really driving it easy.

close to 20mpg is not that bad. I usually avg between 21 to 22mpg but i don't see any traffic on my communte. (i am lucky to be against traffic)

air filter is so easy to change you really have no reason to pay somebody to do it for you. just buy the filter online and DYI.

I used to get about 22 mpg mostly all highway driving. I remember driving from jersey to Colorado I got my dash to say 400+ miles remaining right after fill up.

Now that my o2 sensor went out I get about 16-18 mpg maybe worse...

2008 g35x 75k miles; i get 24mpg mixed driving. I would say 60% hwy 40% city. So if you have been getting less i would check mafs and filters.

Not yelling, just at work working on documentation.
