2007 G35S intro.....
Been lurking the forum for about a year, I have owned my 2007 G35S 6MT since May 2013. This is my 16th vehicle, my Nissans have been...... 1983 280zx, Classic SE-R, 200sx Se-r, Sentra Spec-V, First year Xterra, first year Titan, Infiniti J30 and Fx35. I have also had C230 Kompressor sedan, IS300 5Speed, A6 Avant, LAnd Rover Disco II, Jeep Commander 5.7 Hemi, and a few others. My G has these mods, Stillen Gen 3 intakes, Stillen 20% underdrive pulley, UR alternator Pulley, CNT resonated test pipes ( had Z1 HFC not my sound) Z1 motorsports lightweight flywheel and Stage 2 clutch, Invidia catback , 18x9 BBS Reps and Tommy Kaira shift ****. I just had it dyno tuned at Abel Racing in OKC. Dynojet 285.7 before tune, only able to get to 293 after. Yes I will post pics of everything tommorow, currently on my Windows phone. Anyway great forum helped a ton in my current set up. Any questions ask away!!!
If you search on this forum and others, you'll find out people who installed cai actually lost power due to the intakes pulling hot air off the radiator. The factory intake route is the best for our cars, just use performance filters.
Dont believe in loss of power, radiator when moving air passes through intakes first. Secondly some performance gain is having the MAF backed out of the air flow abot 1 3/4 and smoother flowing pipe. How long do you think air sits in the intake???? Stillen Gen 3/cold air intake without a tune will probably yield little gains or to your point "lose" power. Having filter element open in the engine bay seems more detrimental than the pipes on a CAI. Either way I am getting mine powder coating maybe give a little thermal barrier.
Ordering Monsoon, PPE, FI Long tubes monday, will retune and Dyno after that. Currently 293 on a Dynojet. Or going with GTM aluminum driveshaft and 4.08s. Probably headers since they sound so sick.....

Gen3 dynos show impressive power up top. Not sure you have taken your own advice and searched the forum.
The stillen dyno was done with a car that had not been up to normal operating temperature so it made the car look as if it made power. The intakes were more restrictive and did in fact pull the warm air off of the radiator and thus lost horsepower when the car warmed up and in real world conditions and not with the hood popped
