AC Service

My AC no longer blows cool air. How much is a fair price to fix/recharge it?

You probably are lacking the freon needed to make your AC cold. Go to an auto parts store and buy some new R-134 and a filler valve.

Have someone check your ac compressor. These are beginning to be more and more common on the V36 models, especially 07-08 sedans.

Yep. Had the system checked and the compressor needs to be replaced. How much do they go for?

The dealers are going to charge me $140 for it. Would be nice if it was cheaper but i guess it's already cheaper then the Torrance dealers

If it's not blowing clod anymore, most likely your compressor is toast or you have a leak somewhere. Adding more freon will not fix it, as an A/C system is a closed system and never needs to be "Topped off". If freon is low or gone, that means you have a hole somewhere.

Get it checked.

No way I'm going to a dealer to install. I will get the compressor and have the same ac shop that identified that problem install for me. They quoted me $180 to replace it if I bring them the compressor.
