SRS Light Blinking

So my SRS light starts blinking on my 2007 g35 coupe so I take it in to the dealer to get it diagnosed. Now I'm expecting like $100 for just hooking it up to a scan tool and maybe $500 max for an airbag.. But NOOOOO, service lady comes up to me and takes a big gulp and says " sir it's going to be $3899.42 to fix your blinking SRS light" !! Seems I need a passenger seat cushion assembly. Craziest thing i've ever heard. I could get a whole interior for that price can't I? I can get a new engine for that price can't I...Took a pic of my paperwork to share. I'm wondering if i cant just pick up one at a junkyard or does it need software?

It's bullshit. Go to another dealer. I believe some or all SRS components have a lifetime warranty. I know when I had my acura and my SRS light came on for a bad seatbelt connector at 150,000miles, Acura fully covered it since its a safety item. Not sure if Infiniti does the same.

If they don't, I recommend going to a junk yard and getting this set for $100 and installing yourself.

totally ridiculous but I bet they sell them when people have extended warranties. I'm going to call my insurance company and see if they can cover it since my airbags will not work without it.

I just saw a recall about SRS light blinking for defective passenger air bag seat assembly. Check NHTSA for recall at http://www.nhtsa.gov/Vehicle+Safety/Recalls+&+Defects
Search for Recalls by make. Then call Infiniti Recall number provided to see if your car is affected. If it is part of the recall then it should be free. Good luck

Thanks for your reply..This is the messed up part. Yes, the occupant sensor was recalled on 2007 infinity g35 but I called Infifnity and they claim my vin# is not included? Also when I was at the dealer they said my vin# did not come up..I filed a complaint on safecar.gov site you sent but I think I'm pretty much screwed..
