Performance Mods

Hi guys,

What mods can we do to improve our car's performance ? I'm staying NA and don't want to go SC or FI. At the moment, I have intakes, highflow cats, grounding kit, new spark plugs, Splitfire SDIS and cat-back exhaust. I'm not going to bother with headers as I won't be able to install it myself and from what I've read on here that you don't get much gain/benefits for the money you're paying for then plus install cost as well. Are there any other mods that I can do before I go for a tune ? I just want to get it done once, when finished with all the mods and not waste any money as the tuning cost $660 in where I live.

Thanks

I don't get it. If headers are out, then cams are way out.

This is not an easy or cheap game.

If you drive a DE the headers are cheap and worth it just install them yourself don't be a wuss

You bought a $500 ignition coil replacement kit, how's that going?

Tuning costs that much everywhere.

You already did half of the exhaust, the one that doesn't do anything. So start with finishing what you started there and you'll be happy after a tune.

But really, why did you start this forum? People are being bumped down who have legitimate questions and need help for this...

You can always free up HP and get aftermarket driveshaft and a light weight pulley. You pretty much have everything you need for a tune.

You gave us some information but not what year your G is and you have no info in your garage. If you have a '03 to '07 G35 a plenum spacer would be a must install to correct Nissans design flaw. You don't need pullys they'll do more harm than good! Get an Osiris tune, that is the best bang for your $$ with the results you'll have a smile on your face for a long time...Gary

Catback doesn't do much, unless the cats and intake are also upgraded. Those are the main flow parts.

Even with all the bolt-ons and everything, your not going to get much increase in HP. These motors are pretty much maxed out from factory. Only way to make some serious power is FI.

I love my G but I agree there isn't much worth spending your money on for performance. Drive it and enjoy and get another car to toy with if you want to buy parts.

Agreed. This will probably be my next performance mod.

I've been looking at performance mods for these 3.5's and I'm just not satisfied with the hp/$ you receive from most. I'm probably just spoiled coming from the LS world. Here's my weekend toy:
