Slight hesitation during light take off.

For 3 days now i've been having this problem of my rpm dipping a little when i begin to accelerate after i'm stopped. Here's what i have been noticing...

1. Slight dipping during light acceleration, like im slowly creeping in on the rpm. after the dip, car accelerates smoothly. Car feels like it's loosing power during dip.

2. Does not dip when i give it a bit more of gas when stopped. Like I press the pedal hard enough so my rpm's quickly rises to 2k.

3. This only happens soon as i pass 1K rpms and while the engine is heated up to operating temps.

4. Also does it in reverse.

5. I can do the dipping on command by holding the brake pedal and lightly pressing the gas pedal.

Im really at a loss here... I was thinking that it could be the throttle bodies are dirty? This also began when i changed the battery. Any help will be appreciated.

Just cleaned them a few mins ago. They were pretty dirty! Now i get a slow surge of acceleration. Hell i could even switch to 2nd gear if i had a long stretch of road. With no pedal input It just slowly rises up now Haven't done the idle relearn procedure though. Gonna do it in a few. The main problem still persist though...

Just did relearn procedure and nada, zip...guess i messed up my throttle bodies. Last option is going to infiniti and have them program the idle with their consult tool.. sigh.

So i had this same problem your experiencing in my g35x, and its a simple fix. Get a new battery. Took mine to the dealer and the battery was drained i thought it was something much worse.
The service tech told me that these cars dont charge the battery when the car is on only when its in motion thats why the car stalls in low rpms and when going in reverse. Hope this helps

The thing is... i put a in new battery before all of this.. But now when i woke up to go to the infiniti dealership, The rpm surge is gone. I just have a high idle. around 1100rpm when im driving, and around 1200 when neutral. I'm not gonna touch it anymore since i did an appointment for next friday to have my idle reprogram using their tool. will keep everyone informed.

Hello Muyrec.

I had this same exact issue when I picked up my used 2007 Journey.

I cleaned the TB's, new air intake filters, MAFS cleaning, new battery, idle relearn procedure, etc... and nothing worked.

Someone here showed me a TSB for this issue and I took it to my Infiniti dealership and showed them the TSB.

They said yeah it's a known issue and took my car around back, flashed the ECU and asked me to test it out, slight hesitation is gone.

Seems like something in the ECU was the problem, maybe how it's linked up to the transmission or something, but for $50 bucks my issue is gone and never came back. I did get an additional bump in MPG from cleaning everything, but in my case the ECU was the culprit.

Hey!

I have been having a similar problem. I caught it on video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J--e...ature=youtu.be

I am exerting constant pressure on the gas pedal when this happens. And I haven't noticed any transmission problems (it seems to shift just fine other than this slight stutter from a full stop).

Can anyone weigh in??

Normally when this happens it is due to the exhaust valve timing retarders not reacting properly. You can do all the battery reset procedures but it will not help this issue. Car has to be hooked up to Consult and the exhaust valve timing relearn procedure has to be performed while holding it at 3000 rpms. Once this completes the hesitation will be gone. If it will not complete, then the exhaust retarders may have to be replaced.

Wanted to let all know on my update regarding this issue. Problem was fixed. Idle was reprogram. Idles at 850- and no more surges or hesitation when takeoff. Thanks South Motors Infiniti!

I hope that's a typo and that you are not actually praising a dealership for reprogramming your idle a full 200 rpm higher than factory specification.

I have this exact issue, (2007 G35x)in my case even accelerating at light throttle will cause a " slight bog" at each upshift. I thought it was tranny related, but it seems it's the ecu? Any way to know which map I have and if I need a flash? $50 actually sounds really cheap for the dealer to perform an update.

Bro my car (2008 G35xS) does the exact same thing it bogs when i creep around 900-1000rpm and in reverse too but only when i creep... what ended up being the problem? One year old battery, TB's cleaned, MAFS cleaned, new filters, all fluids changed.... no idle problems at all..
