Question G35X on Staggered Wheels

Im planning on getting some new wheels for my G i really like the sports wheels on the g37 but i know running staggered on a AWD could be a tricky. I guess my options is to find a set of 4 equal wheels or is it possible to get the same tire size for all four wheels?

The trick is getting the "rolling circumference" of all tires the same. That's a MUST. You need to spend some time with a "tire-wheel" calculator and find the exact combo of wheel size, width and tire size that will do that.

http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp

I used this site when I went from 18" wheels to 19" to get just the right size tire so my speedo would not be off.

I'm running same size tires, 245-40-19 on staggered coupe wheels. No issues.

The following tire sizes are compatible combos, then you just need to select proper width rims to mount them on. Issues occur over 80 mph when variance front to back is more than 1%, and ideally having a slightly larger rear tire is preferred since the rears wear faster resulting in less variance over time. Also having front & rear tire mounts the same is very important, you don't want a stretch mount in front and a standard mount in rear as this will alter rolling diameter enough that issues may arise.

18s
245/45/18 & 275/40/18 (rear .07% smaller)
255/45/18 & 285/40/18 (rear .22% smaller)

19s
235/40/19 & 275/35/19 (rear .67% larger)
245/40/19 & 285/35/19 (rear .51% larger)

20s
235/35/20 & 275/30/20 (rear .07% larger)
245/35/20 & 285/30/20 (rear .07% smaller)

Sound advice!
I think many people skip this part and end up running too narrow a rim in the front, like the ever common 245 on 7-1/2" rim.

i currently have a 2007 g35x sedan and I just bought the same wheels you are talking about, that is if you were talking about the ones that come on the 2011- 2013 g37 sport Coupes and the new q60 Sport Coupe. They are brand new take offs and all of them are the same size 19x8.5. i plan on getting a set of 245/40/19 to put on them (hopefully next week) in replace of the bald *** tires that are currently on my oem double 5 spoke 17's.

Im in new york on long island n we usually have bad winters n pot holes left and right. People have been suggesting to keep the 17s for a winter set but I am so hyped to get the set of 19's on and I also don't want to buy 2 sets of tires. im just debating on what brand of tires to go with. If i was you id go on craigslist and try to find a non staggerd set for less of a headache.

I've ran this setup for over 3 years and no problems. Just do your math and it'll be fine.

What i did was buy two complete sets, put all four rears on my car and sold all four fronts as a set. I actually got a really good deal after doing this. Paid about 560 for the set with two brand new tires and two used.

One of the best all season tires are the continental dws. That's what I run all year in Minnesota on my 19" coupe wheels. They're one of the few that are highly rated in all categories.
