Bluetooth: 2008 G35 S, Phone to Car Audio Streaming

I'm looking for a clean method of streaming music from my phone to my 2008 G35 (Sport, Satellite Nav). I've searched this forum and the extents of car audio websites and there seem to be many brands (Parrot, Grom, Etc).

Looking for suggestions based on recent products in the market.

Many thanks.

That can't happen in our generation since we are the forgotten ones. You have to go after market radio to do that. I am looking to do that once I get the money for it

I've considered aftermarket radios and aftermarket Bluetooth adapters but I'm on the fence of one versus the other. I want a clean installation which may just mean that I have to buy a double-DIN radio and a kit to get what I really want but then the car will look like it has two navigation systems. Not cool.

I thought of using a BT adapter, plug it into USB adapter in the arm rest, and stream audio via the AV cable mode

And it works great for my 2007 G35x. Automatically pairs to my phone each time. I just start my car, select AUX input, and play my tunes.

If you phone supports it (most newer phones do) it will pair to this and the car phone bluetooth at the same time and it works great. I can still make/take calls as well as listen to music when the call is over.

I tuck all of this into the armrest area and it looks clean (unless you open the armrest lol) You see a bunch of wires but I keep it together with some velcro.

Oh, Also, in some cases you will get a humming sound over the audio AUX input. If you do, you most likely need to put one of
these these
in betweek your USB Bluetooth adapter and the Audio In Connection. It cleans up the audio and now it is SILENT when music isn't playing.

Nice solution! Can you use your car's controls to change songs on your phone or do you have to do that through the phone? I'm looking for that functionality too. I know...picky, picky, picky.

No, you have to perform all functions through the phone unfortunately. I think there may be a kit that works with our cars that enables this, but it's very very expensive and not worth it unless you have money to burn

I Also wanted to figure out how to get bluetooth streaming but i ended up just buying an old Ipod Video 5th Gen with 120 GB and just filled it up with my music and connected it to the Ipod Cable in the arm rest. This way i can just press AUX and my music plays directly from the IPOD and i can control it using the steering wheel controls as well as the center scroll Wheel. It also charges the ipod, so i am set. If i get a call, it stops playing and my phone rings through the car's bluetooth. No mess, no clutter with cables and just the short Ipod cable.

if you have an 08, you should have a cig plug in the armrest and rca connections next to them. this is bluetooth aptx and sounds as good or better than the factory iPod/iphone connector that comes with the car. it links automatically once paired and defaults to the factory bluetooth for phone calls. i keep the whole setup in the armrest and use siri to control music.

I ordered this exact setup from Amazon along with a cell phone holder that mounts to the CD slot (never used anyway) and it all works great! The phone is paired to both the car and the bluetooth dongle in the console and it seems to work perfectly. Great suggestion! Thanks!
