Newbie question but, is there any temperature gauge option from the factory? I have my inside options but, don't see anywhere in the car that shows the exterior temperature. Am I completely overlooking the obvious or do the G35's(2008) not have one??

Yes, they do have one, and yes you are completely overlooking the obvious.
It is included as one of the trip computer functions on the LCD display between the speedo and the tach. See owner's manual, page 2-26.
