So I bought an 07 g35 sedan early last year and racked up 12k miles so far. The car hit 180K! and it still runs perfectly. It seems the previous driver who put 90% of the miles on the car kept the car in great condition and following the service schedules. The car fax showed it had regular been maintained but nothing specific.

The car has always been in California and from what I can tell the owner mostly drove Highways everyday in an area with newly paved roads (San Jose/Santa Clara).

I feel the engine has plenty of life in it, I really want to hit 400k miles on this car and I am willing to maintain it since I do all the work myself and it would not cost a lot since used parts are abundant.

My main concern is the transmission, it works great and shifts smooth but I noticed two times that it felt like it slipped when accelerating uphill on a freeway. Very slight, but noticeable. I wanted to know if anyone else has experience this? I checked the trans fluid and it was clear also(not red). Is that normal?

So far I have only replaced the oil, filter, power steering fluid, rotors, and pads. At 100k I plan on doing a radiator flush, brake fluid flush, power steering fluid, apply grease, and spark plugs.

Is there any other things anyone recommends? Maybe rear diff oil change as well.

The Nissan fluid is red, perhaps they used aftermarket. I would drain/fill x 3 times and hopefully would help the slipping.

I did what you did with mine plus tranny and differential fluid and air/cabin filters. How does the accessory belt look? I swapped mine out also because it had many cracks in it.

As mentioned above, it should be red or at least in the pinkish to red-brown color range, depending on age/use. It may be an aftermarket type, but hopefully not just some gawd awful home-brewed concoction the seller put in to make it run smooth enough to get past the sale. The factory is pretty specific about not using anything other than Matic-S (or "J" back in '07), as it potentially causes damage to your tranny, enough so that they would void your warranty if you used other fluids. You should definitely get it out of your tranny. Hopefully, there will be no lasting effects from it.

This is an auto transmission, correct? Guess I should have asked earlier. I have the Matic-S fluid that I just changed out. Was cheaper getting via an online Nissan dealer ($8.50/quart).
