I have noticed a very high pitched ringing tone in the G35. I am not sure what it could be. Anyone had this before?

Is it from 74-76 mph?

I tried, but the tone is above what a cell phone mic can pickup. Its very faint. I am going to try and find the source. My hunch is fuel pump area. It sounds electronic for sure.

nope I hear it most at a standstill. The engine doesn't even have to be running, just acc. on and I can hear it.

The 09+ G37s seemed to have this issue which was ECM. The hardest part for proving it is some people are literally tone deaf to hear it.

(get ready for some serious reading on this thread)

I had this in my car (07 V36) and I never figured out if it was a fan, computer or fuel pump. Over the years it stopped bothering me, perhaps I too went tone deaf.

Interesting read (yea I read every post lol) ... Seems the ECM issue is noticeable while driving. Mine is not even close to loud enough to hear while driving what so ever. Not going to rule it out tho.

I am also narrowing it down to the rear of the car not the front. Also it only shows up when the engine is on. I was wrong in my previous post about hearing it in ACC. mode. I downloaded a frequency analyser app for my phone. I am going to just go dig around and see where the noise is coming from. I am thinking fuel pump or maybe factory amp?

See what I get.

I have this same issue, but not in acc. Mode. Only at idle or highways speeds (74+). Let me know if you figure it out, mine sounds like it's coming from the front

I used my phone and got a spectrum of ranges. Nothing substantial in the 8K - 20k range. The ECM issue seems to be a 10k tone that is noticeable even driving and is from the front of the car.

I can only hear this tone when I am stopped and seems to be coming from the back of the car.

Keep hunting for it I guess.

Do you have an aftermarket amp in the truck by any chance (or pretty much anything with a capacitor) ??
BTW, I highly suspect that the noise that is coming from those ECM modules is just a noisy cap.

Nope everything is stock. Will unhooking the factory sub/amp combo to test screw up anything on the head unit?
