Donut Spare - Multiple Warning Lights?

I drove over something and shortly thereafter heard the sound of a flat tire and my low tire pressure warning light came on. The driver side rear tire was flat. I put on the donut spare and drove home as I'll take it in tomorrow to hopefully patch the flat. Within one minute these warning lights also came on: ABS, AWD, Slip, VDC-off.

I'm assuming it simply has to do with riding on a donut but I don't remember those lights from the one other time I had to use the donut. Anything to be concerned about?

Thanks.

Is donut the same size as the other tires? Otherwise I would assume it's because the TPMS sensor is not there anymore.

Any other damage besides a flat tire? The TPMS sensor should be the only thing come on with a donut.

Maybe you damaged the ABS sensor or tone ring?

He is probably using a donut. The system can't correctly distribute power with it on.

.
What rims are on your car? OEM?

What's happening is the car is seeing a huge difference in wheel diameter as one wheel (assuming the donut) is spinning faster than the other 3 due to it being smaller. The car is confused, so it's disabling the ABS system and the AWD system to try and prvent problems.

You are going to want to repair the tire and get it back on the car to "fix" these lights.

You should be fine with the 1 tire being difference sized for now since the AWD model has an open differential and can compensate for the rotation. However, I believe the '08 AWD sport model has a VSLD in the back, so you do not want a donut there.

Thanks for all the replies. Everything was OEM.

I had the tire changed - it could not be patched. All of the lights went away so I assume it had to be the donut since all of them (other than the low tire pressure) came on after the donut and disappeared with the full sized tire.

Nope, there has never been an awd sedan offered with VLSD; even the awd coupe didn't get it until '12.
