Thank you - I will. Took it for a drive down the coast today and really enjoyed it.

There is nothing wrong with the car other than the infamous steering wheel and driver door trim. Well, that and it needs tint.

Welcome to the G Community! I say if you want to get rid of the rubber texture on your door trim and steering wheel, you can do what i did. Take everything off, sand it down and paint it. Mine came out real nice. check out my IG account. Bluedevils9512

Thanks for the welcome!

That's what I'm planning on in regards to the door trim pieces. It's the light grey interior with black door panels, so I'm thinking about doing both door trim areas in black instead of trying to find a matching grey paint/Plastidip.

Holy crap...it's really hard to find new OEM floor mats for a decent price Got a little Bissell mini steam cleaner to do the carpets but I need new floor mats front & rear. Former owner had a kid or a messy wife

It only took me a 1/2 day to sand it down and the next day i gave it to the paint guy. He painted it in the morning and i picked it up at the end of the day and installed it the next day.

Hmm. Hadn't thought of having it "professionally" done but I know a guy that knows a guy that runs a "paint shop" behind a local taqueria.

edit: That wasn't a joke!

Soooo, in the "things you've learned since you bought your G35" category, I learned something important today. I learned that BMW is no longer the leader in designing the worst cup holders in the world. And they took the blue ribbon on that one for a loooong time.

Yes, the cup holders are pretty horrible. It sucks you have to angle your drink just to fit it in there with another one. The rear ones in the armrest are just as useless at the first gen sedan's as well.

Ordered a new factory set of floor mats on eBay...they've already shipped.

And, I began the interior trim restoration...decided to go the DIY route...

Yikes!...
