What i hate about my 07 G35X *RANT*
I need to rant & if you can relate feel free to join along. These are the things i hate about my G35X... 1: I Hate the cheap shitty interior. Even my 03 G35 had a better fit & finish then this one. Door trim is peeling & The piece above the steering wheel is warped and this car only has 120,000 Kms.. 2: The stupid Power windows are bipolar for a few months the right rear window would not do one touch up... Then it started working. Now the drivers window wont do one touch up! Someone explain this to me because i never heard of this happening to anyone else. 3: At idle it vibrates all the time & if i have a Mug glass or my keys in the cup holder u can hear it shaking & i feel it in my seat too its not THAT bad but its noticeable. What could be the cause? 4: Under neath its rusting pretty bad & yes i live in Canada & all but Infiniti should of known people buy there cars in areas of the world that get Snow. I just wish this car was made better. I paid $13,000 cash for this car hoping it would be an improvement from my 03 g35 & yes its quieter & newer & in SOME ways more refined but it could be so much better...

2) Did you try doing the relearn on the window limit switches for the one-touch?
3) Sounds like crappy idle and/or bad motor mounts.
4) Lots of cars rust, but yes, Nissans can be particularly bad in that area.
1) It was the first year of a whole new chassis. Most of those things were covered by the dealership to the original owners when the cars were still under warranty.

1. I think the interior is just fine. Not cheap and looks and feels good. I don't know who thought using that plastidip black rubber coating on the bezels and steering wheel was a good idea, but no big deal, take it off and paint it.
2.That isn't a big deal either, just search up how to do the reset for the windows.
3.Dunno what vibrations your experiencing but, my G at almost 100k has none.
4.Every car rusts, nothing new here. I live in Chicago, and mine is rusted pretty good underneath as well from the nuclear salt they use here. Too bad they don't use stainless steel under cars or special coatings huh?

Funny, we don't have that problem in the northwest or in Arizona....
If you think the rust is bad, be glad you didn't own a Toyota Tacoma:

I know you're just letting off some steam but half of your issues are very simple, particularly the window relearn. Look it up, its a simple sequence of putting the window up and down and holding the button. Not sure what the sequence is but its simple.
The interior trim peeling makes an otherwise nice interior look downright terrible. There are ways of addressing it, keep looking on the forum and pick one that works best for you.
Your engine vibration sounds like something not running quite right. Fouled up sparkplug perhaps? Maybe throttle body is gunked up. Who knows but it might take a little work/ trail and error to figure it out.
Ironically, I originally wanted a 1st gen G35 coupe but was off-put by the lack of luxury on the interior, coarse engine and harsh clutch. I didnt see anything luxury about it beyond leather, seat warmers and strangely placed power seat controls. The second gen had so much more tech and luxury (when I was buying). I had warped dashboard too but for some reason it simply didnt bother me. Perhaps mine wasnt as severe but it was blocked by the steering wheel and didnt look that bad even when I looked for it.
The rust is a bummer. I would suggest getting under the car with a powerwash and think about coating some parts in rustoleum. Be mindful to not cause more harm than good powerwashing.
